our second christmas of the year was just the four of us. sadly, the babydog didn’t get to participate because we were getting on a flight to florida early the following morning, so we had to take him to the kennel that afternoon. we all hate taking him to the kennel anyway, and we felt cruel for having christmas without him [it is his favorite holiday, after all], but there was no other time that we could have it.
we started the evening with our family christmas tradition – dad makes his amazing homemade waffles, and we eat them with syrup, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and fruit or applesauce. i was having such a great time chowing down that i completely forgot to take photos. FAIL. but there’s always next year, right?
after our waffle dinner, we sat in our cozy living room with the christmas tree and exchanged gifts and ate christmas cookies.
{we both got toaster ovens!}
{a tandem bike ornament for my parents}
{my first tv! can’t believe it!}
we laughed a lot and had a great evening. this time is always sacred for our family, because no matter where we’re going for christmas, we always have an evening with just us to exchange our gifts and spend time together. it just feels special.
