disclaimer: “long” = lengthy as compared to the standard texas winter. it’s all relative…
this was how the winter began:
{first “snow day” of the season! which actually wasn’t snow, but an ice storm. all i know is, i love waking up to everything blanketed in white.}
{our campus at work, covered in ice, and the reason that my car didn’t leave the garage for four days…}
{…and a week later, there’s STILL some ice on the roof of my parents’ house. please remember that i’m from texas, so winter precipitation is fascinating to me. also the fact that it can come and actually stick for more than 24 hours.}
{i love hat weather} :)
{ashley and guido moved into a new apartment!}
{…cheers to them staying close by [just down the road from their old place!]}
{fires in the fireplace… the theme of my winter}
{also, wine + visiting with these cute people.}
{staying warm under the covers}
{homemade cilantro lime soup with chicken & avocado. SO good.}
{sweaters on dogs and humans}
{christmas shopping}
{a little dog who is obsessed with christmas. i’m not exaggerating. he never sleeps in this room except when the christmas tree is up.}
{yeah, i’ll be that girl who shamelessly posts pictures of christmas trees in march! i got a new tree this year for my new condo. it felt like my little place was made to have a christmas tree with its big bay windows and what i thought was a useless light switch – turns out i can turn my christmas tree lights on and off with the flip of a switch as i walk out the door!}
little did we know that this winter stuff would be extending into march this year! [kinda like my christmas posts! oh wait, we did predict that one.] ;) luckily for us, these past few months have been peppered with some beautiful weekends, so it’s hard to complain too much. and spring will be here before we know it! hang in there, my northern friends!
xoxo
