oh hey march, you flew by.
here’s a bit of month #3 of 2014 and its going-ons…
{the month began with some warm weather, the ginger man, and some temporary tattoos. we’re off to a good start already! also, check out this little dog at ginger, all tapped out! adorbs.}
{…and then we spontaneously got snow. i went to work, but mom got to stay home from school and sent me this picture of how lucky spends his snow days. :) andddd that french onion soup from bistro n at nordstrom was yum.}
{this is what my face looks like when it snows in march. it’s all “where is the warm weather??” while secretly kind of liking it.}
{and THIS is what happens when you go grocery shopping with co-workers who also happen to be foodies like yourself. you buy a big container of raspberries at costco, a raspberry tart at trader joe’s, you become addicted to the trader joe’s roasted coconut chips, and then you make a side trip to nothing bundt cakes and fall in love with those too. especially the lemon one.}
{we had the annual chili cook-off at work and my team made some DAMN good chili. it was filet mignon chili! rich, meaty, complex yet balanced in flavor, with a late heat. unique yet classic. had close to 30 ingredients in it, including beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin, and ground beef. we didn’t win [i couldn’t believe it! someone must be paying off the judges!], but we were proud of our chili anyway and people loved it. we’re a team of people with culinary/food backgrounds, we worked hard on this chili, and we wouldn’t settle for less than the best!}
{i won free mavs tickets at work, so i took noelle! we got to sit courtside and it was pretty legit.}
{…and then i discovered kevin love on the timberwolves. too bad noelle already has dibbs. ;) and don’t tell the mavs!! minnesota ended up winning in overtime, but it was an awesome game. thank you to my company for providing the tickets!}
{from wine class…}
{speaking of wine, my parents, mimi, and i went to a winery nearby, fuqua winery, and i bought this delicious bottle of zinfandel. isn’t that bottle seal interesting? it’s supposed to be pretty good technology for keeping the wine from oxidizing so quickly once it’s opened.}
{i couldn’t believe that it was march and i was still wearing fur…}
{my new pullout couch in the guest room/office! loving this view from my bed!}
{spring shopping at buffalo exchange}
{this is what happens when dad gets ahold of my mail!! so glad he’s here to set me straight!!}
{snapchats galore}
{two work lunches, one brought from home and the other eaten out… salad with berries & chicken + thai food}
{when you work where i work, you acquire random food items like garlic tabasco and jalapeño ketchup from “anonymous” people putting them on your desk. and in regards to the second photo, this is the way my latino cube neighbors and i do breakfast [and lunch, and snack] at our desks: jicama with chili, salt, and lime [or lemon if you don’t have a lime!]. muy delicioso!}
{my brother is moving to dallas for an internship in a month and this is where he’s going to be living! only 5 minutes from my house! i’m soooo pumped!}
{mom, dad, mimi, and i tried the porch for the first time and it was reallyyyy good. when can we go back?}
{so i could totally start an instagram account called “the dirty hair diaries.” but i’ll spare you. i think i’m just overly fascinated by the fact that my hair does wild and crazy, completely out-of-character things when it’s dirty. and some of them seem kind of cute at first, if you don’t mind the greaseball look on top… ha. and secondly, see that picture on the right? yeah, that happened. SHINER and ice cream. a beer float. just because.}
{i’m so happy that it’s berry season again!}
happy friday eve!
xoxo
