it’s been kinda quiet around these parts, i know. sorry. i’ve been busy/distracted by everything under the sun, and i start culinary school tomorrow [!]. yeah. i’m kind of ignoring that fact right now. because life is crazy enough as it is. where did you go, summer? i don’t dislike culinary school [in fact, i generally like it a lot, depending on what classes i’m taking], but i sure dislike what it does to my weeks/my social life. boo. plus purchasing and management coop just don’t sound quite as fun as, well, cooking. nor do they sound as fun as hanging out with friends. but enough complaining, because the semester is coming whether i’m ready or not. herewego.
in other news, my friends kevin and angelica got MARRIED! and they just returned from their honeymoon to maui, so they are officially going about their regular life activities as husband and wife. it’s hard for me to even believe! but i’m so very, very happy for them. also, their wedding was so. much. fun! noelle and i were seriously having wedding withdrawals after that weekend, or as noelle put it when she texted me monday morning after the event: we were in a “post good weekend funk.” and that’s the truth. it was kind of like college, only better. because now we have money, we were exploring a new city [even if it was just buffalo, NY], and we were celebrating all weekend long. anyway, the wedding was a major success. here are some photos from that weekend:
{we flew into boston and spent the night with noelle’s friend aaron [my date for the wedding, who i met for the first time that trip!] before making the trek up to buffalo the next morning. we totally felt like locals getting coffee at aaron’s favorite breakfast place in his south boston neighborhood on friday morning…}
{the beach in south bahhhston, just a couple blocks from aaron’s apartment}
{isn’t this an awesome picture? photo credit: noelle howe}
{road trip! an out-the-window boston view and an out-the-window view of someplace between boston and buffalo. we picked up noelle’s friend kevin – her date for the wedding – on the way to buffalo, which worked out perfectly.}
{on the way to the rehearsal dinner}
{group photo [taken by noelle]!}
{before the wedding ceremony. noelle and i unintentionally matched} :)
{so i stole this off angelica’s facebook but it is TOO CUTE not to share. right? this was at the send-off after their wedding ceremony. they are officially a married couple!}
{after the ceremony!}
{the ceremony was at noon but the reception wasn’t until 5 pm, so we had time in between to visit niagara falls. pictured: noelle tumbling down the falls in a bucket, and our first view of the falls through a fenced-off area [it’s not glamorous but the misty falls in the background sure are pretty!]}
{the international boundary line between the u.s. and canada}
{the lovely niagara falls}
{the canada side… this is about how far we got before we had to head back to make it to the reception. still, we’re so glad that we got to see it!}
{on the bridge}
{just a couple of the many funny moments experienced over the course of the weekend… the first photo is noelle’s puppy who goes everywhere with her [its actual name is puppy] snuggling up to the bag of popcorn after the maids came. it was hilarious walking in on that, for some reason. and do you see all the bubbles in the second photo? we got little vials of bubbles after the ceremony for the bride and groom’s send-off, and after that, kevin carried them around in his pocket and would start blowing bubbles at the most random times for the rest of the day. we were dying every time. because there’s something so humorous about adults blowing bubbles with no kids around. we even overheard someone mutter to her friend, “those people are weird” after kevin so delicately blew bubbles off the bridge towards niagara and aaron filmed him, which of course made us laugh so hard. i guess you just had to be there…}
{before the reception}
{blurry photos from the reception}
{the venue was lovely}
{ashley and guido + the cake!}
{angelica and kevin’s first dance!}
{we had such a fantastic time}
we do regret not getting a photo with the bride and groom, but they were kiiiiiiiiinda popular that night. plus we were busy having a grand time dancing, so it kind of slipped our minds. oh well. congratulations, kevin and angelica! we love you and wish you the very best for your marriage and your future!
xoxo
