okay, i lied. i know i said that these photos were my last iphone pics from paris, but my mom was hoarding her photos. ;) and they’re just too good not to share. i want to include them in my memories on here! and THEN i was deleting some pictures off my phone and found a couple more from my own phone that never got posted. all photo credits go to mi madre unless otherwise specified. so here ya go:
{ashlin and aunt whoa in our little neighborhood}
{la conciergerie… this was one from my phone that i don’t believe ever got posted}
{with notre dame in the background}
{even though the sun is on their face, this pic of ashlin and aunt debbie is too cute}
{getting ready to board the funicular up to montmartre}
{mimi and her youngest grandchild}
{the token eiffel tower pics…}
{…and a few of the tower at night. these are from my phone – i was playing around with some different filters on my iphone camera, just for fun.}
{one more of gay pride in paris}
{waiting for the fountain show in the gardens of versailles}
{take from the window of our apartment. THIS is why i was in love with our little neighborhood. it might be my favorite picture ever, because it captured the vibe of our little hood so well.} :)
{one of the towers of notre dame}
{lots of photos at the arc de triomphe}
{my mom is the youngest of her siblings, and ever since she was a kid, her family has called her charles after charles de gaulle [the president of france at the time] because she apparently ran the house! to this day, my aunt whoa whoa still calls her charles instead of nancy! here’s her cute little selfie by charles de gaulle place. [on a side note, i can’t remember if i’ve explained that aunt whoa’s real name is carol… my uncle couldn’t say carol when he was little so he said “whoa-whoa,” and the name has stuck. we’re full of strange nicknames around here!} :)
{aunt debbie’s lens popped out on her glasses and we had a good laugh about it… i love this photo!}
{rainy day in the neighborhood… [this one was taken by moi]}
{three generations on the metro}
{ashlin and aunt whoa were our navigators}
{the beautiful hotel de ville, just down the street from our apartment}
{on the day that we were all parting ways, aunt whoa, aunt debbie, and ashlin all headed back early to the airport, and mom, mimi, and i had a leisurely morning before we had to catch the train to amsterdam. aunt debbie was actually picking uncle mark from the airport, as he was meeting her paris so that the two of them could take their own little trip to normandy and then spend a few days in paris before heading home [this was when they were able to buy the bracelet that i talked about in this post that i had been disappointed i didn’t buy and that they then surprised me with for christmas]. and ashlin was spending one night with them in paris before she headed back to the U.S. and they went to normandy. anyway, just as we were lugging our suitcases down the four steep flights of stairs to head to the train station, the front door opened, and we heard familiar voices… uncle mark, aunt debbie, and ashlin had surprised mimi by hurrying back from the airport so that we could see mark briefly before we left. [they live in florida, so we don’t get to see them as often as we’d like.] we had just enough time to hug, take some photos in front of our apartment, and catch up as they walked us to the metro station. it was sweet of them to do this and it made us all very happy to see them before we left.}
{goodbye little tower!}
here are the other paris posts, in case you missed them:
and that, my friends, was paris according to our phones. what a fun girls trip it was! and now, onto amsterdam we go… xoxo
