oh heyyyyyyy, spring!
i hope your weather this weekend was as nice as ours, and that you enjoyed it as much as i did. i spent the weekend sitting/eating/drinking on patios, laying by the pool, shopping a bit, and pretty much just loving life. i was finally able to break out the shorts, skirts, and dresses this weekend [no tights!!] which was fun, and i was sure in the best of spirits. i laid by the pool for two days in a row, went out with some friends last night and met a whole bunch of really cool people, and today had brunch on the gorgeous rooftop of nora. if only the weekend would never end…
…especially since this week is going to be a doozy. midterms for my marketing class, plus a project that is an enormous percentage of our grade… and that’s just the work this week for one of three time-intensive classes that i so stupidly scheduled to take in the same semester. it’s been funnnnn. anyway, the semester is progressing and i’m counting down the days.
last week, i wanted to focus on letting go of my worries and giving them to God. it can be so hard to do this, but it’s an important thing for someone like me, a worrier, to remember, as worrying really does no good. there’s definitely still room for improvement there, but i didn’t do so bad last week.
this week, i’m going to practice getting better at confrontation. this is hard for me by nature but it’s something that i want to work on, as it’s a great skill to have for both your professional life and your personal life. i know that i have a tendency to do certain things when i’m nervous about confronting a situation – i start babbling and avoiding the subject, talking too fast, turning a bit red and getting hot – and i want to practice changing my behavior in these situations and getting more comfortable with it. it will take time and practice, but it’s a great thing to work on. my boss is excellent at confrontation, and she has this way of saying things very directly and very succinctly, and yet people always respond so well to whatever she communicates. it’s truly a gift, and i hope that i can learn from her, especially regarding this topic.
{i’ve been obsessed with pairing long sweaters with dresses, skirts, and shorts lately}
is it really already week 48?? it’s almost been a year since i started the selfie sunday posts. unbelievable. i already have a plan in mind for a series that will replace this series… but more on that later.
have a great monday! xo
