…and now a list of things that i missed while being in europe/was much more appreciative of when i got back to america [not necessarily in any particular order]:
: : big huge glasses of still water with lots of ice [fo FREE!].
: : my own bed! sleeping in it allllllll by myself [no offense, mike]. ;)
: : my own bathroom and my own shower. and my hair products, soaps, thick towels, etc.
: : mexican food. and tex-mex. can you say TACOS?
: : my family and my guy. <3 they are the best.
: : AIR CONDITIONING! there was a week-long heat wave while we were in europe and a lot of hotels, restaurants, and stores don’t have AC… we would be walking around in the middle of the day, sweating pretty badly with the sun beating down on us, and we’d be so relieved to duck into a place to sit down and have something to quench our thirst and get out of the sun, only to discover that the place wouldn’t have AC and it was literally cooler outside. yep. and the nights were pretty bad since none of the hostels we stayed at had AC. i was overjoyed to come back to the frigid, chilled-to-the-max indoors of texas that i normally complain so much about.
: : my fresh juice in the morning. ever since i got a juicer, i make juice every morning with a variety of fruits and veggies. it makes me feel like i’m starting the day right.
: : i never thought i’d say this, but running! we did a lot of walking and a lot of hill-climbing on the trip so i didn’t feel like i was lacking in physical activity at all, but i guess i like running more than i think i do? or at least i’ve tricked my brain into thinking so. because i was thrilled to come home and get back to running my routes! weird.
: : another thing i never thought i’d say… baseball? i definitely wouldn’t have missed it like three months ago, but ryan’s always got a game on and i surprisingly enjoy it… there’s something so all-american about the sport.
: : LTE/being able to get on the internet and text and call whenever i want. sooooo underrated.
: : skim milk. i’m a milk drinker, but i’m very particular about my milk and won’t drink it anywhere else but home [it’s odd, i know]. but i do miss it when i don’t have it for weeks.
: : peanut butter. it’s not as common in europe, although the abundance of nutella in europe helps fill the peanut butter void fairly painlessly. :)
: : my condo and my neighborhood. nothing feels better than coming back to this place that feels like home sweet home.
xoxo
