we’re in hot springs with my dad’s side of the family for christmas, and we have a full house over here… even with no little ones, it’s pretty much complete chaos at all times. [our little ones are the two dogs… shiner might as well be a little toddler running around because he has more energy than the rest of us combined…]
to be honest, sometimes all i’m hoping for is to steal away for a little peace and quiet, but then i remember how blessed i am to have a loving family and to be able to spend christmas with them, despite us being spread out over all different states. everyone is happy and healthy; we are so blessed.
i found a whole bunch of nama’s old photos from christmases past and i couldn’t get over how much things have changed [and some things that haven’t!]. it’s fun to reminisce and then to think about what it will be like someday when mike and i are married and have a bunch of kids running around. they sure do make the holidays fun – sometimes i miss having little kids around, but it’s nice to savor these days too, where we can do adult things like drink margaritas and play some pretty hilarious games of charades. and if we think christmastime is hectic now… i can only imagine what it will be like with kids! HA. priscilla joined us this year in hot springs, and we’re happy to have added another person to our crazy bunch! we’re hoping that she survives the next few days with us because we sure do like her! ;) here are some memories from previous christmases with this side of the family:
{first things first: this is how i see if the clothes are going to fit.}
{singing with nama!}
{i love finding pictures with poppy!}
{christmas crafting with the girls}
{that one time when i was an angel in the christmas choir at church, and the program started at 5:30 and my dad and poppy got to the church at 4 to save the best seats, and they couldn’t get in because the church wasn’t even open yet. God love ’em.}
{the whole family! ryan was just a little guy!}
{here we were a little older…}
{…and just a couple years ago in florida!}
thankful for family and thankful for jesus. happy happy birthday to our savior! xoxo
