i hope you’re all having a wonderful thanksgiving with friends and family. we’re actually having our turkey day tomorrow because dad had to fly for some of the day and mike and priscilla are spending time with her family today. we’re excited for our big family meal tomorrow, and we don’t mind having it a day late because it gives us another day to get ready! we feel blessed and thankful this holiday season.
i went through a whole bunch of old photos today… some of my parents when they were kids, my grandparents’ wedding photos, photos of my parents when they were dating and their wedding photos, and then some from when mike and i were kids. i love love love looking at old pics. i can seriously do it for hours. anyway, i thought i’d share some that i found of thanksgivings past. you’ll have to excuse the glare on some of them because i took photos from some of my mom’s albums that have page protectors on them.
we used to take lots of family photos when we were younger, but of course as we’ve gotten older, we haven’t changed as much [at least we hope!] ;) and we forget to take them. but two years ago, i took it upon myself to start a new tradition of setting up a tripod and taking a family photo every year on thanksgiving [and my family obliged!]. it’s a good time to get a picture and i know we won’t regret having these photos of our family in this adult/kid-less stage of life. here’s the one from two years ago, back when we still had lucky dog:
and here’s the one from last year. mimi wasn’t with us on thanksgiving and we had to take the photo inside because it was raining and shiner didn’t cooperate, but we still got a decent one ;):
happy happy thanksgiving to all of you! xoxo
