…inside. yes, in july, jamie bought a new tent, and yes, we went camping inside his living room. and you guys, we seriously had the best time!
a little sidenote on the subject: in the first six months that i moved to denver, jamie and i fought quite a bit. we had a lot of fun times too, but given the fact that we had spent the first five months of our relationship long-distance, we had a lot of catching up to do on getting acclimated to regular life of living in the same city together when i moved here. we both had new jobs, i was getting adjusted to living in a new city, and of course we were seeing each other much more often. we went through some growing pains, but shortly after our six-month anniversary of me moving to denver and our one-year anniversary of being together, the fighting just kind of stopped. which we’re both really really happy about.
but on this particular weekend that we went glamping in july, we were approaching the end of that somewhat tumultuous period but didn’t know it yet… all we knew at this point in time is that we loved each other and wanted to stop fighting so much! so we consciously decided to have a wonderful weekend together without conflict. real camping wasn’t an option because my job was completely hectic and i was working a lot of weekends, but jamie was excited about his new tent, so we decided that living room camping was the next best thing. we both surprised each other with some fun things this weekend, and it was one of the best weekends of our relationship to date. here are some photos…
{i surprised jamie by bringing a bunch of stuff to glam up the tent. honestly, i think i was much more excited about this than he was, but i think when it all came together, he thought it was pretty fun too. and comfortable!}
{i mean, who wouldn’t want to crawl into this tent?!}
{i also surprised him by bringing some rosé and an hors d’oeuvre that my mom made when she and my dad came to visit… it was honey goat cheese, marcona almonds, and balsamic cherry preserves. jamie fell in love with it too!}
{this.}
{fun times}
{jamie surprised me too! he had set this cute table… well, countertop since he doesn’t have a table in his house, haha. but i was totally impressed! that’s a better table than i could have set!}
{and he made us amazing salads…}
{…and got all the stuff for us to make sushi together! so fun!}
{afterwards, he made us watermelon mules [tito’s, lime juice, pureed watermelon, and ginger beer with cubes of fresh watermelon floating on top. so freaking good] and we went in the hot tub. perfect night.}
i really just want to remember this saturday night forever and ever. hope you all have a wonderful week! xoxo
