okay, so i’m posting on all of march and not only posting on the ides of march since apparently the ides of march means march 15th… anyone else remember that from school?? yeah, me neither. i had to look it up. ;) buttttttt i was looking for a catchy title and that was all i could come up with, so that’s what this post is named. in march, i celebrated jamie’s 28th birthday, we had a little ski weekend in breck, and i went home to texas to celebrate mike’s 25th birthday and to do some wedding planning! here are a few more pictures from the month:
{i made this blueberry pie for jamie’s birthday…}
{and then i had some crust left over so i made these mini heart pies!}
{they weren’t the prettiest pies ever, but they made for a tasty breakfast!}
{may my kitchen always be filled with fresh flowers and homemade pies!}
{i am officially THAT girl. ;) thank you so much to noelle for the cute mug – i love it so much!! …i can’t wear my ring to work so i thoroughly enjoy wearing it and staring at it on the weekends.} ;)
{there were some crazy skies in march! i took these in the car because the clouds looked insane.}
{and then it was this little stud’s birthday so i had to post this cute picture!!!!}
{a little blurry, but i saw this GORGEOUS colorado sunset on the way home from the airport after my trip to texas and i wasn’t so sad about being home after all.} :)
{we got the sweetest gift from the sweetest friends for our engagement! krista and walker gave us this fancy grown-up candy box from sugarfina. how cute is this?! we loved the rosé and strawberry gummies!}
{storm clouds going into downtown denver}
{i thought this little market was cute.}
{i had a fun dinner with noelle at beast + bottle.}
{tasty little bites from the chef.}
{grass fed beef tartare with beef heart, ponzu, watercress, and wasabi tobiko}
{i believe this was a special… i don’t remember exactly what it was but i know it was delicious. haha}
{this was a chef’s choice course – it was a pasta with a beet and goat cheese sauce. fantastic.}
{the entrees – butter poached monkfish with sunchoke, broccoli, and meyer lemon, and pan roasted lamb with winter carrots, red kale, and lamb sausage agnolotti. i didn’t love the monkfish, but the lamb was very tasty!}
{jamie and i stumbled across this sushi restaurant called izakaya ronin right ACROSS THE STREET from me that we’d never seen! it’s kind of hidden, and then come to find out, in the basement within a repurposed boiler room, there’s actually a little speakeasy bar with craft cocktails, japanese whiskeys, small plates, and ramen! i love both sushi and ramen, so it was pretty exciting to discover this spot.}
{we started with drinks in the speakeasy – we both got the yuzilla: hendricks, gin, st. germaine, yuzu, agave, ginger beer, mint, and cucumber! we were obsessed with these.}
{and we shared a couple small plates. this was the panko-fried soft shell crab – very tasty.}
{and of course i loved the jalapeño hamachi with apple jalapeño vinaigrette, yuzu, and skudani.}
{then we went upstairs and had some hand rolls! this was such a fun night.}
{more of that crazy march weather!}
{this was a little date night that we had at the new zeppelin station, exactly one month after getting engaged!}
{zeppelin station is one of those trendy food halls with lots of different vendors. we had this charcuterie & cheese board from au feu, which offers montreal smoked meats and poutine. we loved everything on this board and finished every bite!}
{i wanted so bad to get a photo of my pale pink suede ballet flats with the pompoms! and then after i took the picture, i realized that my skin is the same color as the shoes, hahaha.}
{an amazing burger + beer on a sunday funday at 10 barrel brewing co. with my man.}
{because everyone does dumb things sometimes… this was one of mine!}
{another beautiful sunset over the mountains!}
i’d say it was a month of great food and amazing skies! xoxo
