in early march, while jamie partied with his friends at the cabin during their annual deadwood trip, i went home to visit my family, celebrate my brother’s birthday, show off that RANG, and become immersed in wedding planning! i was really happy to see mike and priscilla since i hadn’t been able to see them the last time i went home, and i was happy to get to celebrate 25 years of my brother bear. aaaaaand the wedding planning was oh so fun! here are some photos from the weekend:
{my trip home was during one of the weekends of spring break… so i was basically in airport security hell at the denver international airport, ha.}
{this was exciting! my mom had all these fun bridal magazines and this bag and a bunch of other wedding material all ready for me.} :)
{wedding venue shopping with my mom and grandmothers! the picture above is the one we ended up choosing – the very first one we went to. i can’t wait!}
{we all went to brunch at ida claire in dallas before heading to the wedding dress shop, and my maid of honor julee joined us! this was so much fun. i’m just SO SAD that we forgot to take pictures!!!}
{ida claire has the best cocktails! julee and i both had the “oh, bee-have” [honeysuckle-infused vodka, honey, lemon, bitters]. so delicious.}
{and then priscilla went and made my day by asking me to be her bridesmaid!!!! i’m SO excited and honored to be a part of their wedding and of course i said yes!!!! such an adorable way to ask too. i’m such a sucker for florals!}
{i love this girl. AND i love that we get to be brides together!}
{ porch and fire table evenings with my fam are my favorite.}
{my mom ordered my brother a cake for us all to try from a potential wedding cake vendor. it turned out cute – perfect for the oreo cookie monster!}
{this brother of mine is pretty swell. happy 25 years!}
{ohhhh shiner baby, don’t you know that it’s not good manners to rest your head on the table??} ;)
{morning sunrise… this is the view i grew up waking up to every morning and i still love it. at some point when i was a kid, my mom said they were going to get shades for these windows and i told her i didn’t want them. so she waited until i moved away! and now i keep them up when i come home to visit, even though the light wakes me up early. so worth it.}
{the cutest little sock thief!}
{since we had forgotten to take pics the day before, i got one with nama before she had to head home!}
{love them}
{the day that i found my wedding dress and then we tried sweet daze dessert bar for the first time… basically all my dreams came true on this day, haha.}
{so much eye candy…}
{i am totally and completely obsessed with all these cakes.}
{i said yes to the dress!!!!}
{…and to this donut topped with ice cream!}
{here’s what mimi and mom ordered. who knew black and blue ice cream could be so good?!}
{this was a fun day.}
{and after dessert… we had lunch! haha. [with a little shopping in between.] we ate at our favorite little bistro in nordstrom at northpark. we shared some deviled eggs to start…}
{…and then each got the cilantro-lime salad, which we get every time. creatures of habit!}
{before heading home after a day of shopping, we met mike for a drink at parliament after he got off work. i always love this spot. look at those fancy drinks!}
{love them}
{i remember these views.}
{we tried some different fort worth bakeries over the course of the weekend… blue bonnet bakery is actually located inside an old church.}
{cute, right?}
{aaaaand they make these texas pies!!!!}
{honey love cakery was definitely a favorite.}
and then i had to step out of my wedding dream world and go back to reality. but it was a wonderful weekend and i can’t wait to continue the planning! thank you so much to my wonderful parents, grandmothers, mike and priscilla, and julee for making this trip home so much fun! xoxo
