today was wonderful. let me just tell you all the reasons why. << i typed this out laying in bed last night at 10:30 pm and then got super super sleepy and decided that this post would have to wait until morning. that’s been happening a lot lately; i feel like i’m going going going, being super productive and getting lots done throughout the day, and then i sit down to do something later in the evening and i just crash! i must be my dad’s daughter…
anyway, back to my sunday and all the reasons why i loved it: first of all, priscilla’s brother got married last night [it was a lovely wedding and a really fun night], and because it was up in plano/garland area, my parents and mimi [and shiner!] stayed the night with me afterwards so they didn’t have to drive all the way back to mansfield. i love sleepovers!
and then my day was all the things a sunday should be about: family, going to church together, eggnog french toast made by yours truly before church ;), and thennnnn brunch after church, going for a walk with mom, watching football, making chicken stock, going for a run [the weather was just TOO GOOD], taking an itty-bitty nap on the couch, going to the grocery store, eating a salad for dinner, making homemade mac and cheese for the week, watching a movie while working on homework for culinary school.
{it was a very festive little breakfast. also, don’t mind all that junk in the background… that’s all the boxes from my christmas decorations that mom and dad were taking home for me…}
as mentioned, the weather yesterday was all sorts of perfect – cool in the shade, with a warm sun. fall colors adorning all the trees and piles of leaves at my feet. texas may not get autumn until it’s starting to get wintery everywhere else and the christmas season is upon us, but i’ll never complain about getting fall weather and fall colors, EVER. :)
and that’s what i’m talking about. sunday at its finest, folks. can we do it again next week? xoxo
