for valentine’s day this year, jamie and i decided to have a low-key evening at home, similar to last year. v-day is such a hectic time to go out – we find it so much more relaxing to stay home on this holiday. this year i made a lamb ragu over heart-shaped pasta [jamie and i both love lamb], which i served alongside a spinach salad and some parmesan bread. jamie helped with the cooking too, and we had a fun time sipping on prosecco, snacking on an impromptu cheese plate that i came up with at the last minute since the lamb was going to take a while to cook, and just spending some quality time together. we even watched a couple episodes of this is us – we’re trying to get caught up so please don’t spoil any details!! ;)
here are some photos from our evening:
{first up, my v-day table! i really want to work on my table decorating skills. i’m trying to get better at that, but i still have a ways to go…}
{my valentines decorations!}
{all lit up!}
{jamie brought me chocolates + these flowers which he arranged himself! that man is the best!}
{the flowers totally brightened up my table!}
{i gave jamie a “tackle box” with gummy “bait” since he loves gummies, plus this cute book which i filled in to make it a personal book about him and only him!}
{here’s a close up of the tackle box on the inside and outside} :)
{cheers!}
{my phone takes horrible selfies but here’s one attempt before we started using jamie’s phone}
{some fun ones}
{and this one, which is my favorite even though it’s blurry, and kinda reminds me of the photo we took last V-day…}
{see what i mean?? hopefully this means we haven’t changed a bit!} ;)
{prep work}
{it’s not the prettiest or fanciest cheese plate ever, but i think it wasn’t bad for an impromptu one with only items that i had in the fridge + pantry!}
{ready to eat!}
{our meal!}
it was a fun and festive evening! thanks for being my sweet valentine, jamie! xoxoxo
