…until i leave for seattle with my mama to visit brother bear! dad will be joining us there for a few days too – he has training since he just made captain, so he won’t be there the whole time, but we’re just happy he’ll be able to come for a few days.
[the above picture is just me being silly, something i sent to my brother with some sort of funny caption about being excited to come visit him in the pacific northwest, a.k.a. hipsterville. really, it was just an excuse to pull out those glasses and put on my new mexican blanket jacket – that’s what i call it anyway – that i bought on the sales rack in the boys section of urban outfitters for $9.95. yep, it was a steal and i’m pretty pumped about it. i think i’ll fit right in up there] ;)
i’m bringing like all the rain gear + winter clothes that i own, because i always freeze when i go up north in spring/summer/fall. like when i went to the farm a month ago, and we had to stop at goodwill to buy me a sweater. it happens every time. i remember being on a trip to washington d.c. with mimi and my cousin arend at age 8, and i had packed all cute little sundresses, but it was SO cold so all i ended up wearing the whole time was the longest dress i brought plus a sweatshirt that mimi bought me in one of the tourist-y souvenir shops. in every picture, there i am in my red ankle-length sundress, sandals, and a gray u.s.a. sweatshirt. attractive.
anyway, seattle is such a beautiful city – it’s probably been close to 10 years since i’ve been there, but i’m really looking forward to having a nice vacation with the family. it’s been a whirlwind, both at work and in my personal life [closing on a home is a LOT of work!], and it will be so nice to get out of this oppressive texas heat which is suddenly upon us. my closing date on the condo is literally the day after i get back, so that’s something to anticipate as well! :) can’t believe it will be officially mine!
have a wonderful weekend and week, loveys! see you when i get back! ;)
xoxo
