during our trip to seattle, mom and i spent a half day in tacoma while mike was at work [and dad had already left for a trip] to go to the museum of glass. i don’t know if it was because i had been there before and had these larger-than-life memories of the museum [i remember thinking that it was really cool] or because there were less exhibits, but it felt smaller this time around. but the glass there is definitely gorgeous. we love dale chihuly’s glass [remember this post where we went to his exhibit at the dallas arboretum?], and the chihuly bridge of glass is completely amazing. i can’t imagine what it looks like at night.
we also went to the lobster shop for lunch, which was lovely because we were out on the patio right over the bay. i mean, sitting outside and eating seafood on the water in perfect weather? we were crying big tears about this, obviously. all in all, a superb afternoon, although i would have loved to explore more of tacoma. i’ve heard it’s a wonderful city, and i felt like we only got a little taste. so many cities, so little time!
