my college bestie angela went to high school in montgomery, tx and lived in a beautiful home on lake conroe. her parents were nice enough to let a group of us come for a little getaway a couple weekends ago while they were away. there were 7 of us – angela and her boyfriend travis; our other bestie kyle; savannah, angela’s friend from high school whom i’ve gotten to know over the years; and our other friend cameron and his girlfriend liz. and me! these people are all loads of fun, and the weekend was a major success. fun, fun, FUN it was!
{i drove to lake conroe after work on friday, and was greeted by the whole crowd and this margarita waiting for me! if that’s not a sign that it’s going to be a fantastic weekend, i don’t know what is!}
{kings cup, just like the good ol’ college days}
{an elevator in angela’s home, nbd.}
{we drank, caught up, played catch phrase, and went in the hot tub on friday night. i tried to take a picture of the lake while we were in the hot tub, but all you can see is pitch blackness and the light of the yacht club across the way. there’s nothing like having waves crashing below you while you’re relaxing in the hot tub at night. it may not be the ocean, but angela’s home on the lake is the next best thing. it was pretty sweet.}
{we woke up to this view!}
{the backyard}
{i made a coffeecake and angela and travis made muffins for breakfast}
{the gorgeous built-in fish tank}
{on the boat}
{the life}
{angela and savannah ready to dominate the wake!}
{the famous [infamous?] trio!}
{we drove the boat over to papa’s on the lake for lunch}
{docking up}
{love these three!}
{margs and land shark}
{kyle, candid}
{ahhhh that pool}
{this pretty fruit pizza that angela made was the perfect snack! so yummy!}
{how we spent our afternoon…}
{we had some wild games of “slap cup” going on [i’m calling it that for the sake of keeping this blog PG…]!}
{my boyfriend for the weekend.} ;)
{the game room…}
{…and the game room bar.}
{relaxation}
{grilling out}
{the grill masters}
{we put the screen up and had our dinner outside and it was wonderful. and then we spent the rest of the night playing cards against humanity which was just too much fun.}
thank you to angela for being such a stellar hostess [as always] and to her parents for opening up their home to us! it was such a blast.
