WOW, you guys. if january 2018 was this good, then february 2018 just blew me out of the water. what a fun month! i’ll never, ever forget it. i’m sure you’ve seen the many recent posts, with 99.9% of them being about our engagement, and while i don’t plan on stopping the wedding talk anyyyyyy time soon, i’ll give you guys a little break from it for now and post on some of the other things that happened in february. ;)
as a side note, i have goals to get caught up on july – november 2017, on my japan trip two birthdays ago [!!!!], and on the last two cities that mike and i visited on our backpacking trip to europe a million years ago, but i know it’s going to be hard as i’m trying to plan a wedding that’s less than seven months away. BUT hang with me, because i’m determined as ever to continue plugging along on the catch-up game.
anyway, here’s the rest of the glorious month of febrero:
{jamie and i celebrated 1.5 years of dating on february 5th [yessss, i love celebrating, haha], and since donuts seem to be a tradition for our anniversaries, here’s a gigantic banana fritter with peanut butter and chocolate from voodoo doughnut!}
{jamie moved into an apartment with his sister hope in early february. this was our little break from unpacking – dinner from one of our favorites, jerusalem! this place is sooooo good.}
{and we brought home some sweet treats to share for dessert!}
{scenes from DIA.}
{the amazing pasta bolognese at chow morso in avanti food & beverage. noelle’s dad and brother were in town so she invited all her friends to come to dinner here so we could meet them! so fun!}
{jamie knows that the way to my heart is through fruit tarts.} ;)
{16th street. i normally try to avoid this area but i had to do some shopping on this night, and it was pretty with the lights.}
{some of my coworkers made this and i died laughing. the most processed of all processed foods – a hot dog, served on a twinkie, with a squirt of cheese whiz. needless to say, i didn’t partake in the feast.}
{when jamie’s parents were in town, we all ate at denver central market. i had this pizza from vero and it was delish.}
{we also toured the argo gold mine and mill in idaho springs.}
{i spy a bighorn sheep! his name was hank and apparently he hangs out around the gold mine/mill pretty much every day.}
{pretty views}
{hard hat selfie}
{with jamie’s family, all in our hard hats!}
{inside the mine}
{i’d say that “behind bars” isn’t a good look for me!!}
{have you guys checked out faceapp, that app that uses artificial intelligence to transform your face?! i saw it all over facebook, and i was curious and finally got it myself… it’s sooo scary haha. above, you’ll see a collage with the photo i chose to use, a picture of what i would like like as a guy, what i looked like when i was young, and what i will look like when i’m older. so weird!}
{two more… i don’t know why that last one is smaller.}
{…and jamie!!! HA! he’s going to kill me! but it is just so crazy how it does that!}
{you guys know how i love these.}
{so snowy!}
{two flower baths in one week?! yepppppp, doin’ it big over herrrrr. and this time, i was trying out my new wine holder and bath bombs from jamie!}
{let’s be real…… sometimes kitchen mishaps happen! so this was fun.}
{jamie and i had brunch at four friends kitchen the morning of the day we got engaged!}
{coffee and apple cider mimosas}
{jamie had smoked brisket hash & eggs with hickory smoked beef brisket, BBQ house potatoes, grilled onions, green chilies, peppers, blended cheese and red chili ranchero sauce with cornbread and two eggs your way.}
{…and i had kickin’ sausage grits with polidori spicy andouille sausage, two poached eggs, three-cheese grits, sautéed kale, heirloom tomatoes and red chili sauce. YUM!}
{aaaaand noelle took me out for dinner at annette at stanley marketplace after i got engaged and it was lovely. we shared the gnocchi with fennel, brussels sprouts, spinach and parsley root…}
{…and also the steak frites. everything was really tasty. thank you noelle!!!}
and now you all know everything about my february. ;) happy first day of spring!
