i hope everyone’s thanksgiving was filled with family, friends, football, and lots of good food! i went home to my parents’ house on wednesday evening and spent the rest of the week/weekend with them and mike, as well as nama, who drove in from hot springs. last year, i missed out on thanksgiving since i used the break to visit my friend gianina in germany [parts 1 & 2 of that trip, here and here], so i was extra excited about the turkey dinner and some good ol’ family time this year.
here are a few snapshots of my holiday from both my iphone and dslr:
{glad to see this college kid}
{we love nama! so happy we got to spend thanksgiving with her}
{this little pup is my favorite. also, his haircuts.}
{dad always does the turkey on the grill and it was SO good. extra moist and seasoned to perfection.}
{a little blurry, but one of those moments that’s just fun to capture}
{ahh, this dinner. nothing better.}
{watching football/napping on the church pew in the game room after thanksgiving dinner}
{my brothers}
{can’t forget about mom’s & dad’s birthdays! celebrating with german chocolate cake, of course}
{making a wish. love them.}
{lucky up to his usual shenanigans.}
{guarding the presents}
{he is the best.}
it’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day trials and tribulations, but WOW, you guys. take a step back to count your blessings. i need to do this more often – every day, really – because life is so good. God is so good. He makes life fun and crazy and challenging and interesting and heart-breaking and faith-inspiring and more beautiful than any one of us could have ever dreamed up. and it’s glorious.
here’s to being thankful every single day, not just on thanksgiving, because we are blessed.
xoxo
