so here’s the dealio… even though we’re only on week 6, i’ve already found that there have been some challenges that i’ve done really well at, and others that i’ve kinda sucked at remembering to do [ahem, week 4’s vocab words]. and my ab workout challenge this past week was unfortunately one of the latter. [good thing i had opted not to do before and after pics, right?? haa.] but really, if i’m being honest, i completely forgot about doing abs on, well, most of the days. i would remember at the most inopportune times [at work, at dinner with friends, and literally right before i fell asleep, at that point when i was already halfway in dreamland], and forget when i was actually at home to do the workouts. there were a few days where i managed to remember, but, needless to say, no six pack yet. ;)
and the challenge of this week relates to speaking/communication skills – i’m going to try to speak more slowly, thoughtfully, and confidently [specifically at work] and i’m going to try to avoid using the word “like.” there are several things going on this week at work where i will be able to practice this – presenting some information at our weekly team meeting, a conference call with a distribution partner in which i will be explaining our produce safety program at detail and describing where we want the program to go in the future, and a big meeting with our senior VP. even though all these people already know me, i want to impress them with my knowledge and my delivery of information, so that’s my goal. wish me luck!
i hosted my friend angelica’s bachelorette party last night, so we were up super late and drank a lot of champagne, which meant that i wasn’t feeling awesome this morning. this selfie was taken after a two ibuprofen, a lot of sprite, and a very long afternoon nap, when i was finally starting to feel better. it was about time!
