for our annual christmas tea, we tried out the joule hotel this year. we used to go to tea at the ashton hotel in fort worth every year, and when i moved to dallas, we started switching it up to try new places. last year we went to the ritz carlton and the year before that we did the crescent hotel. the joule is upscale, modern, and trendy, and it was a new and different experience from the other years. we tacked on some shopping downtown beforehand which always makes for a great time!
the tea was a little less private than we’re used to, as we were in a small-ish room with three large tables and shared our table with another small group, BUT the setting was lovely – it was in the taschen library, which is this neat bookstore in the hotel with an eclectic and well-displayed collection of art books all published by taschen. the food was wonderful and they were also very generous with the champagne, which was complimentary. here are some photos from this wonderful afternoon:
{elevator selfie}
{we always have such fun together!}
{it was a cool and unique table setting.}
{i loved the cookie on top of the tea cup… and that egg was to die for.}
{the first course… i wish i could remember what everything was so i could tell you about them!}
{cheers to one of my favorite christmas family traditions!}
{i should have gotten a photo of the library because it was really neat.}
{a strawberry and goat cheese bite}
{this was dessert.}
{a little take-home treat. i should have turned the box over a little because the macarons had colored sanding sugar on the top!}
fun times and man, i’m going to miss these ladies when i move. but our christmas tea tradition will continue, no doubt! :)
