may was all kinds of lovely. it was made up of visits to mansfield to see my parents, the prettiest evening runs, homemade cakes, kisses from a little brown furball, donuts with crazy toppings, busy days, later evenings. a produce trip to california, a memorial day trip to the lake, a birthday party, a wedding shower, a party at my parents’ house so they could meet my friends. it was free free free – no culinary school until august, and my brother and me running around town just being young and happy. the start of a fantastic summer.
{a little food adventure at kirin court with a couple of my coworkers at lunch – my first dim sum experience!}
{from the end of the semester of culinary school}
{the rosewood crescent hotel – right across from where mike works! i took these on a run one night.}
{the building where mike works on the right, and on the left is lucky visiting mike’s apartment – he immediately jumped on the back of this chair. so typical!}
{eating BBQ outside on the porch}
{mother’s day – our sweet mama and her babies, plus champagne at our mother’s day brunch!}
{the mother’s day dinner that dad and i prepared}
{my sweet little puppy brother}
{having a break from culinary school = more time for laying out + the porch!}
{i hosted a little saturday morning breakfast from hypnotic donuts for my family before mike moved in to his apartment.}
{bolsa rules.}
{on the right, mike’s house ground burger with sharp cheddar and applewood smoked bacon, which i tasted a bite of and loved. and then i gave him a slice of this sausage and banana pepper flatbread and proceeded to inhale the rest of it. and i wasn’t even sorry about it.}
{a chocolate terrine with mango compote and almond brittle + white chocolate rum tile with nilla wafer crust and caramel rum sauce.}
{lettuce fields for days.}
{broccoli fields}
{carrot fields}
{more lettuce + spinach harvesting}
{on the right, a yummy stuffed artichoke from one of our dinners with a supplier, and food trucks on the left that camp out in our work lawn/parking lot once a month!}
{half days}
{doodling}
{pantry beggar}
{the prettiest macarons that my cube neighbor got from a supplier + a little “gift” that he left on my computer, thanks to a funny and rather embarrassing moment that happened to me recently at a meeting with ~30 coworkers… it’s a long story…}
{we got mom and dad a gift card to the adorable little place on the right, hotel st. germain, for christmas. it’s right between our places, so hopefully they’ll be able to come stay this summer while mike is here!}
{the backseaters on our little roadtrip to hot springs to visit nama on memorial day weekend.}
{lucky is unfazed by his sister and her random acts of weirdness.}
{out on the lake!}
{beignets that dad brought us from a trip to NOLA and a yummy italian cream cake that nama made for mom and dad’s anniversary}
{brunch on the golf course and a pretty moth}
{his “awkward turtle” nap pose}
{a trip to the cemetery due to this challenge}
{more pretty photos from one of my runs}
{me being a “tired cookie,” as my mimi would call it.}
{blackfriar for weeknight drinks and a view of the city.}
{getting ready for the dinner party}
{i was so happy that the pound cake came out of our “fancy” bundt pan cleanly! anddddd toasted pound cake and berries make The Perfect Breakfast, no questions asked.}
{on the left: this is the way the little scruff monster and brother bear like to nap “together”… but it’s cute nonetheless.} xoxo
