this week, i’ve determined that i’m finally ready for fall! i had been grasping onto summer for as long as i could, not ready to give it up just yet, but i woke up last monday decidedly ready for a change in seasons. and for pumpkin and colorful leaves and cool weather… which is good because as of yesterday, fall is HERE. it got down to 60 degrees last night and has been chilly/cloudy all day today and i’m prettttttttty pumped. it really gets you into the spirit, ya know?
anyway, to celebrate the beginning of autumn, i’m posting some pictures from last fall that i never got around to getting up here. seeing them is making me quite excited for the season, and of course it’s always fun to look back on old photos. hard to believe it’s already been a year since all of this! a lot has happened. welcome baaaaaaaack, autumn.
{our annual end-of-the-fiscal year meeting was held at house of blues last year.}
{scenes from downtown dallas/going to culinary school}
{while i absolutely love living in uptown, i’m totally still that thrift-shop, farmers market, concert-going girl that i was the summer when i lived at the village and in milwaukee, which isn’t exactly uptown style if you know what i mean… i got the dress on the left at a thrift store in MKE and the pic on the left is from the buffalo exchange dressing room here in dallas. i’m not ashamed.}
{alsoooooooooo i’m the type of girl who’s not afraid to get a burger and beer on a patio by myself. so there’s me in a nutshell.}
{i found this picture of my parents back in the early 80s and i might be in love with it.}
{grapefest in grapevine}
{on the left: half of a glorious chocolate croissant from bff bakery. and on the right: a blurry but ridiculously awesome hot fresh cronut [croissant + donut = cronut] from grapefest. it was insane.}
{i busted out the thigh highs! also, i always seem to take a picture of this sign at quarter bar like every time i go. it’s a reflex or something.}
{rain, pumpkins, and chicken noodle soup at whole foods.}
{iced mango tea and oatmeal with strawberries, almonds, brown sugar, and cinnamon from la madeleine at the airport. always a lot of work trips going down…}
{from the ginger man… my cute parents sent me the first three from a trip down to austin and i took the last one here at the dallas location. i do love this place.}
{the trees outside my place starting to look golden. and opening the door of my room to enjoy saturday morning weather which felt just like today’s.} :)
{dinner at the standard pour. loved that we got a tiny complimentary glass of rum sangria with dinner. and then. we tried ABSINTHE for the first time! it was on the menu, no joke! didn’t love it, but it was part of the experience, right?}
{dad had sent me this photo of his now amplifier for his mini electric. when he first got it, mom was always having to hold the phone up to the amp per dad’s instruction so that i could listen to him play. i love how his mid-life crisis took the form of a guitar-playing airline pilot [even though i guess that’s what he’s been all along]! frank kojder, captain and rockstar. speaking of rockstar, check out that stud on the right.}
{the Most Sinful Thing Ever… a scoop of butter pecan ice cream in my coffee. it is all sorts of wrong and all sorts of right. and a car selfie for the win.}
{had to bring these babies in for winter. R.I.P. little tall and skinny, who is since deceased.} :(
{my favorite little corner market and my favorite little tree.}
{i forgot how much i loved these boots.}
{i got a new macbook air last year! my favorite quote from a speaker at a conference that i went to: “apple makes products so beautiful that you want to lick them.” true story. and a new necklace from buffalo exchange!}
{i love seeing the seasons change at work.}
{my college friend and i dressed up like hipsters and went to see the head and the heart over at south side ballroom. it was easily the best concert i’ve ever been to, soooo good. only terrible thing is that my phone died before they came on so i have no photos or videos of them at all.}
{from a little trip to houston – a foggy morning + a fun night at howl at the moon}
{the shopping queens and a delicious “shopping break” lunch from bistro n.}
{fall in my neighborhood}
…and that’s all for autumn of 2013. excited to see a repeat of some of this in the next few months! i’m really feeling the days of sweater weather, pumpkin beer, and halloween costumes. happy fall, y’all! :)
