this post will be short and sweet and to the point, as the selfie sunday tend to be lately…
last week’s challenge was to get my christmas decorations up so that i could take the empty boxes back to my closet at my parents’ house on friday, which i succeeded in doing. and i’m quite happy to have those boxes out of my entryway, thank you! the only thing i haven’t done yet is my table, but i should have no problem getting to that this week, as it looks like it’s going to be a much calmer one than last week. the rest of the decorations are up and my little home is as cute and christmasy as can be!
this week, i’m going to read the bible every night. i go through stages where i do this often, but lately i’ve had a lapse where i just haven’t gotten to it, and i wanna get back on the stick. i love my bible – i write notes in it, highlight it, underline it, stick meaningful messages in it, even draw pictures sometimes, and it’s almost like a little scrapbook of my faith life. as a kid, when people would ask, “what would you grab in your home if your house was on fire?” i never understood why people would say their bible, because we always had lots of bibles in my home and i would always think, “why wouldn’t you just go to the store and buy a new bible?” but now i totally get it. so much of my life and heart and soul is in my bible. it’s really comforting just to leaf through the pages and see what all is in it, and i love finding new passages and verses that speak to my heart. as we’re already in week 2 of the advent season, it seems like a great way to await/prepare for/look forward to the day of jesus’s birth.
{today was the perfect day for some faux fur.} :)
laters, my friends!
