september was a[nother] weird month, to be honest. if you don’t already know, ryan and i are no longer together… i won’t go into the details, but there were some things that happened that made me realize pretty quickly that we aren’t the right people for each other. i kinda hate having to share that on here… i had hesitated posting about him when we first started dating, just because i don’t want to invade on people’s privacy and it was early to know where it would go, but at the same time, it’s difficult to not post the photos when we’re hanging out together all the time, and it also seems weird to post photos but not say anything about who the person is. and he had told me that he didn’t mind. therefore, i feel like i need to acknowledge that we’re no longer together, as awkward as that is… but it’s life! those types of things happen. it’s a good thing for both of us, really. we had some nice times, but there’s no doubt in my mind that that was the right decision. and of course i wish him the best!
anyway, here are some random pictures from the month of septiembre. there will be a couple more posts to come because i had two wonderful weekends with friends in late sept. i know i’m late on posting these, but all this really does seem like sooooo long ago:
{on the left, on a flight from DFW to amarillo, and on the right, cadillac ranch!}
{spray painting the cadillacs}
{i spray painted the a&m logo on one of them [even if it is in texas tech colors!!]…}
{it was pretty interesting to see this in person.}
{and then, palo duro canyon!}
{we hiked up into that cave which was pretty interesting}
{coming down from the cave}
{it was a neat place. apparently palo duro is the second largest canyon in the country, right after the grand canyon! pretty impressive. i just love the united states and all its treasures!}
{my favorite view}
{found these old pictures and i just love them!}
{the cutest little yoda dog! i love when his ears are out like that! and sometimes he just gets so tired that he has to sleep next to his water bowl.} :)
{hiking at cedar ridge preserve! i need to go back here more often.}
{the prettiest disc golf course in cedar hill.}
{keeping this in mind, always.}
{the day after ryan and i broke up, i posted this photo along with the following caption: “this is today. i am humbled by the uncertainties of life, but i’m filled with a breath of hope and a tranquil heart knowing that i’m doing the very best that i can.” deep, i know, but i was feeling very reflective that morning… however, i totally didn’t realize that i looked sad in the photo, but i immediately started getting texts, facebook messages, and comments that were like, are you okay??, etc. this was not my intention at all, to make people worry or wonder what had happened or think that i was sad/upset about something. i really hadn’t realized that i looked so sad! i like reflective posts on facebook that make you think a little sometimes, but i HATE dramatic posts, and that’s the last thing i wanted this one to be, so i immediately took it down…}
{…and posted this one instead. i appreciated the concern of family and friends, but i wanted everyone to know that things were fine. sure, certain aspects of my life were throwing me for a loop and caused me to make decisions that i wasn’t necessarily happy about making at the time, hence the reflective post, but everything happened the way it was supposed to, and i was quite glad about that. and let’s take down anything that remotely resembles drama, self-pity, etc. because ain’t nobody got time for that! that’s not what i’m about, and i would never want something that i posted to be mistaken for that! bring on the sunshine!}
{culinary school + pumpkins mean fall is here! [last year i waited too long to buy pumpkins and they were all picked over… so i didn’t waste any time this year!]}
{coffeecake-making. this recipe didn’t include icing so i made my own. because i like my coffeecakes with icing.} :)
{on the left, brunch with rebecca at the common table which included cocktails and breakfast pizza [we know how to do brunch right!], and on the right, the best garlic ramen with linda at ramen hakata, with added corn + a side of kimchi. heaven.}
and there was september in a nutshell, with a couple more posts of friend weekends to come! xoxo
