this is going to be a fairly short post [per my standards of short, ha] because a good majority of may has already been posted on!  i went home to visit my family and attend kristen’s wedding one weekend, we went to omaha for eric’s graduation the next weekend, and then we went to the lake for memorial day weekend.  between those trips and working, there wasn’t time for too much else!  BUT here are a couple other tidbits from may:

{torchy’s tacos [even in colorado] always feels like an old friend.  i knew you before you were big, torchy’s!}

{from a fun little bachelorette party that noelle threw for our friend emma.  it actually snowed this night, i couldn’t believe it!}

{on the left, this was a big deal:  my first denver highlight + haircut, and i went to jamie’s hairdresser!  he’s been going to her since he moved to denver and loves her, and it was a big step for me to switch hairdressers because i had been going to my girl for ~15 years!!  but i couldn’t go back to texas every time i need my hair done, so jamie talked me into going to erin and i loved her!  also, he surprised me and paid for part of my first appointment, just to be sweet.  what a guy he is!  on the right, i made jamie chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles when he was sick.  he takes care of me so well so i make sure to take care of him too!}

{speaking of taking care of each other, i kept getting sick for basically two months straight and one random weekday jamie showed up at my door with these flowers and “get well soon” balloon, my fave ice cream, and gummies.  he is seriously the biggest sweetheart.  luckily the sickness is behind us both.   i had found out that i had walking pneumonia as i mentioned at the beginning of this post, but i’m good and healthy now and jamie is also!}

{brunch with noelle at the squeaky bean, which unfortunately permanently closed since then.}

{i have to say that the “squeaky spritz” was not really my favorite, but these homemade donuts with browned butter glaze WERE my favorite.  like literally the best donuts i’ve ever had, and i’ve been dreaming about them ever since.  which makes me super depressed since this place shut down.}

{this was also amazing.  chorizo hash with house-made chorizo, eggs, potatoes, cheddar, and avocado toast.  dear squeaky bean, please open back up and i promise i’ll come visit often.}

{even though it’s not the best picture, i took one day when the light over the mountains looked crazy.  i wish this picture did it justice.}

{after-church brunch with jamie at bacon social house.  yes, there is a whole restaurant dedicated to everyone’s favorite food and YES, i am a fan.}

{what’s better than a hot man sitting across from you and a bacon flight in front of you?  hint:  it’s a trick question.  NOTHING.  this was a personalized bacon flight with applewood bacon [smoky & classic], BBQ bacon [sweet & savory], candied bacon [smoky & sweet], habañero bacon [smoky with a kick!],  flavor of the month bacon [don’t remember what it was], and billionaire$ bacon [house rubbed, extra thick, slow smoked, candied, and baked], in case you were wondering.  [insert all the heart eyes].}

{a picture that i’m obsessed with by sallie robbins:  “mountains calling.”  it’s acrylic and gold leaf.  i think it sold since then and i kinda wanna cry about it.}

{from a work trip to california:  LA vibes.}

{on the left, when in LA:  esquites!  this is the dirty esquite from dirt dog LA.  grilled corn cut off the cob and topped with mayo, cotija cheese, cilantro, bacon bits, and chili powder, served with a slice of lime.  on the right, a hong kong egg waffle filled with chocolate!}

{and when i got back to LA, this note [and a clean apartment] was waiting for me……….. my man takes the trophy for best boyfriend, and i love him dearly.  he has such a kind and thoughtful heart.}

{due to those things above, i crowned him OFFICIALLY the greatest person who has ever walked the freaking earth.  but really.  besides jesus of course.}  ;)
