when it comes to posting, i have a lot to catch up on, between past trips i’ve taken and basically all of 2017… i’m just now getting to the start of the new year now in fact… but slowly but surely, i’m getting there!
i think this was honestly the best new years eve i’ve ever had. it kind of felt like my last hurrah before my big move. jamie came to dallas, and then i got to meet one of his best friends, walker, and walker’s girlfriend, krista – they came in town from tulsa and we all went to dinner at HG sply [always a favorite], and then we had a big party afterward with them and several of my friends and mike and priscilla and some of their friends [i think we had 13 people in total]. we finished the night at so&so’s, which was a convenient two-minute walk from my condo, and we had made reservations with bottle service, so it was hassle-free with no waiting for an uber, no waiting in line, and just a complete blast! such a fun night. and the best part of all? i had a hot date to dance with all night and to kiss at midnight. it was pretty sweet. here are some photos, and please don’t judge our party pics… it was NYE and the champagne was flowing, after all! ;)
{party prep… planning my photo wall}
{on the rooftop of HG with walker and krista}
{the weather was so nice on this night}
{party time}
{i made a couple charcuterie boards – this one was on a himalayan salt block that i’d been given as a gift a few years ago. i was excited to get to use it.}
{the other charcuterie was served on a cutting board in the shape of my birth state.} :)
throughout this post, i also included some boomerang videos that lauren took at the party – totally hilarious!
{cheers to ringing in the new year together!}
{old roommates, old friends} :)
{i always have fun times with this one.}
{i’m so happy this sweet girlie and her husband got to join us for the evening!}
{aren’t these two newlyweds adorable?}
i also stole a bunch of photos from priscilla’s and minhuyen’s facebooks – hopefully they don’t mind. :)
{a couple of my favorites!}
{pretty ladies}
{i love these two best friends}
{priscilla, hope, and faith}
{i’m glad the photo wall came in handy!}
{that smirk gets me every time!}
{i loved that every single one of us got to make new friends on this night!}
…and then we brought out the costume attire and things started getting weird. ;)
{first it was this beard and the pirate hat. i love this picture! haha.}
{and then mike and priscilla had to give it a try too!} ;)
{then mike had the bright idea to try eating with the beard on…} ;)
{needless to say, that beard met its fate the next morning when i threw it away, haha.}
{and then there was this mcdonald’s visor that i had made for a “where you see yourself in 5 years” date party for my sorority, ha! the best part is that this year is actually five years out of college for me!! thankfully i’m not working at mcdonald’s, so my guess was wrong. ;) anyway, this visor made its rounds too…}
{okay, we need this on video……….}
{hahaha, classic. get it walker!}
{and then this. i was dying.}
then we headed to so&so’s to continue our celebration!
{on the way, this happened, haha. he said he was “just trying to keep me safe.” ;) i put on my best “what in the world is he doing to me” face for this picture, so i promise that i wasn’t actually as upset as i look!}
{this was a really cool picture that minhuyen took at so&so’s!}
{most, but not all, of the group}
{i was so glad that we could spend new years with these two and some of their friends too!}
{cuties}
{great times}
{party on!}
{this is a horribly blurry picture but i still love it. jamie and me tearin’ up the dance floor as per usual.} ;)
{i’m glad he’s mine!}
{happy new year!}
everyone stayed safe [always the most important thing], and i think everyone had a great time too! i had a complete blast! so i’ll call it a success. but how i really knew it was a great party was waking up to this mess the next morning:
{haha YEP. please keep in mind that there were 13 of us there in that little space, because i know it looks completely insane, haha. don’t judge us.}
the last part of our fun little new years celebration was getting to go to my parents’ house for an early dinner on new years day so they [along with mimi] could meet jamie. it was a wonderful time as it always is with them. and they liked jamie a lot [no surprise there, but still a relief for me!].
{my mom always sets a beautiful table.}
and that concludes our fun [and wild!] welcome of 2017. this year is off to a great start. xoxo
