welp, almost three months after posting fun bake part 1, i’m finally getting around to posting the rest of my photos from fundamentals of baking. i’m clearly on top of things. but i start advanced food prep TOMORROW [ooooh, i like the sound of that!], so naturally waited until the last possible minute to post these. because that’s how i roll. and for those of you who follow me on instagram, let the food porn begin again!
so, to fill in where we left off:
{making pie crusts}
{stacked pie shells}
{chocolate cream pie}
{cream cheese pies and key lime pie}
{key lime pie is so refreshing.}
{a VERY delicious apple pie with a crumb topping}
{cherry pie filling and apple cranberry pie filling}
{cherry pie, before baking and after}
{apple cranberry pies and sweet potato pies}
{lemon meringue pies}
{meringue curls}
{a feast! from the advanced food prep class}
{chocolate eclairs and “cream puffs” filled with custard and dipped in chocolate}
{strawberry turnovers and dutch letters, made with blitz pastry dough}
{these palmiers, also made with blitz pastry dough, were by far my favorite thing that we made the entire semester. the flakiest pastry i had ever tasted – to die for.}
{potato pancakes! courtesy of the advanced food prep class}
{another treat from advanced food prep}
{pineapple upside down cake}
{grandma’s chocolate cake – definitely a “sunday cake” – and angel food cake}
{cake decorating – white cake with italian buttercream. neither of these were made by me, unfortunately!}
{my humble little cake, made for mimi’s birthday}
{conch fritters, again from the advanced food prep class! it was my first time trying conch and i loved it.}
{coconut cream pie for my final exam}
so there you have it, folks. fundamentals of baking, start to finish. bam.
